AS OF JUNE 1, 2020, ADOPTIONS ARE BEING DONE BY APPOINTMENT WITH AN APPROVED APPLICATION. SOCIAL DISTANCING AND OTHER COVID-19 PREVENTATIVE MEASURES WILL BE REQUIRED FOR EVERY ADOPTION. WE HAVE PAUSED OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. OUR ADOPTION CENTER IS CLOSED TO OTHER VISITORS AT THIS TIME
How to adopt a Young at Heart cat:
There is nothing sweeter than a senior cat getting a second chance and a happily ever after with a family who loves him or her with their whole hearts. To ensure a successful adoption, we work with you to find the right cat to match your lifestyle and needs.
To begin the adoption process:
- Complete an application. The approval process can take up to 3 days during a normal work week. Please note: applications submitted after 2pm on Saturdays may take longer to complete, as we are closed Sundays and Mondays.
- Once your application is approved, you'll hear from the adoption team and arrange for an appointment to meet the cat(s) you are interested in.
- If the meeting goes well and all parties feel it's a good match, complete the adoption paperwork and welcome your new family member!
If you see a cat on our website or meet one at an adoption event that you are interested in, please complete our online adoption application. We will contact you once your application has been processed. Submitting an application does not guarantee that you can adopt the pet you are interested in. Out of state adopters are welcome to apply, however you must come here to visit with the pet you are interested in, as we do not ship our beloved senior pets.
Young at Heart charges an adoption fee of $100 for each cat that helps to cover spay/neuter surgery, shots, and other medical and general care given before the cat is made available for adoption. All of our adoptions come with a built-in two week trial period with a money back guarantee. Adopters age 65 or older receive 50% off adoption fees.
