Double Your Donation!
Young at Heart has received a $150,000 matching grant from the Sequoia Foundation for its 2019 Year End Giving campaign. The Sequoia Foundation will match every dollar received by Young at Heart up to $150,000 through the end of 2019.
Young at Heart's goal for the 2019 Year End Giving Drive is $300,000 to cover the cost of medical care, as well as food, supplies, and other daily expenses for the hundreds of senior dogs and cats in their care in 2020.
“We are so grateful to the Sequoia Foundation for this generous gift. By doubling the impact of each dollar given, up to $150,000, we are hopeful that many new donors as well as current donors will be inspired to contribute to these critically important funds for Young at Heart's annual operations” said Dawn Kemper, Executive Director of Young at Heart. “This generous challenge gift and vote of confidence it signifies will inspire donors who wish to double the impact of their gift and help more senior pets in need. This matching grant has launched our end of year giving campaign with a running start.”
The campaign will be conducted by direct mail, email, and social media, as well as one-on-one donation requests.
“The Year End Giving Campaign is extremely important for Young at Heart as it provides a significant portion of our annual giving,” explained Laura Worcester, Development Coordinator. “Rescuing and caring for senior pets takes a significant amount of funding. Veterinary care alone requires tremendous resources, especially since keeping our dogs and cats healthy and comfortable is our number one priority. This matching grant – and the gifts it will inspire – will help ensure that this critical need is met.”
